Hoodie Allen is a rapper sampling some of my favorite songs. His sampling of “I Am Not A Robot” by Marina and the Daimonds was simply superb. Now he has taken to sampling Two Door Cinema Club, one of the most interesting bands of 2010. Looking forward to hearing Hoodie Allen’s full album! High Five!

Joy Ike – Give Me Truth
I have a soft spot for talented female vocalists who sing over piano. Joy Ike has hit that spot. She reminds me of a mix of Sara Bereilles and Corinne Bailey Ray. Her songs are soothing to the ears and lyrically poetic. I particularly loved her track “Give Me Truth”:
